Building Content in the Editor
Acoust’s editor brings writing, voice selection, AI helpers, and exporting into one screen. The tips below follow the actual layout of EditorPagev2
, so everything you read here matches what you see in the app.
Get Oriented
- The header bar includes quick actions such as Save Project, Import Text, Share Audio, AI Writer, Background music, Translate text, and Customize Pronunciation. Each option opens the same dialog you use inside Acoust.
Write and Organize Your Script
- Type or paste your narration into the editor panel. Every paragraph becomes its own “section,” so you can adjust delivery one moment at a time.
- Use the toolbar above the text to insert pauses, tweak speaking speed, and undo/redo changes. Pauses appear in-line as chips you can move or delete.
- Need to start from existing material? Use Import Text to upload
.txt
/.docx
files or pull copy from a web page. You can also Upload Audio to create a transcript that automatically fills the editor. - Standard plans support up to 50 sections and 4,000 characters per section; premium plans expand the limit to 200 sections.
Choose Voices, Styles, and Pronunciation
- Each section shows a voice chip in the toolbar. Click it to open the voice browser, filter by language or gender, and preview stock or cloned voices.
- Apply a voice to a single section or use the “apply to all” option when you want the same sound everywhere. Favorites appear in their own tab for quick access.
- Open Customize Pronunciation to store pronunciations or phonetic spellings that should always be applied when you generate audio.
- Voice instructions let you describe the tone you are after ("keep it energetic but natural"), ensuring every regeneration follows your direction.
Use AI and Translation Helpers
- Toggle AI Writer to open the built-in Chat assistant when you need alternate phrasing, summaries, or new ideas.
- The Translate text button converts your script into another supported language. Acoust replaces the editor content with the translated paragraphs so you can immediately generate previews in that language.
Preview, Mix, and Refine
- Press Preview within a section to create audio for that paragraph only. Changing the text, voice, emotion, or speed automatically clears older previews so you always hear the latest version.
- The player bar at the bottom creates the final audio.
- Add polish with background music: choose Background music to upload tracks or pick from previously uploaded media. Remove the track anytime with the delete button beside the music label.
Share and Export
- Click Share Audio to generate a link your teammates can stream without downloading anything.
- Use Export after you have listened all the way through. You can download a single MP3, grab a ZIP that includes every section, and include subtitles (SRT) on supported plans.
With these steps you can go from rough draft to publish-ready audio in one sitting. Revisit this guide anytime you want a refresher on a specific button or workflow inside the editor.
